All That Glitters Is the 'Woman in Gold'
If you’re a fan of Gustav Klimt’s iconic painting Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer 1, you may be intrigued to discover its engrossing backstory, which is depicted in the upcoming film Woman in Gold.
Here’s the exclusive first look at the film’s poster, which features stars Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds.
Mirren plays Maria Altmann, the niece of the gorgeous Viennese salon woman Klimt painted. The 1907 work was stolen by the Nazis during World War II and years later, Altmann, a holocaust survivor living in Los Angeles, made it her life’s mission to fight the Austrian government in order to reclaim it. Reynolds plays the crusading lawyer trying to help her win it back.
Woman in Gold, also starring Katie Holmes and Daniel Brühl, enters theaters April 3.
