And Now the Final Chapter of the 'Rogue One' Stop-Motion 'Star Wars' Toy Story

Rogue One is still 80 days away, but by the end of the week you’ll be able to play way through the newest Star Wars adventure — this Friday is when licensees can officially start selling their latest merchandise, including loads of new toys. To hype their wares, toy makers teamed with Lucasfilm and a group of superfans to create Go Rogue, a series of stop-motion YouTube videos loosely retelling the Rogue One plot (spoiler-free!) with the latest action figures, vehicles, and playsets. Today, the fourth and final chapter premiered (watch above), in which our heroes attempt to swipe the Death Star plans from the Empire.

Whereas the three previous Go Rogue clips included a mix of toys from Hasbro, Mattel, Funko, Jakks Pacific, and Disney, this final installment is all Lego. As previewed earlier this month by Yahoo Movies, the upcoming Lego Rogue One line feature five different ships and 21 minifigures, many featured here.

The decision to go all-Lego for the fourth chapter is a nod to the huge fan community. According to Disney, more than 20 percent of all user-created Star Wars video content on YouTube is Lego related. The new video used more than 20,000 bricks along with both existing and upcoming Star Wars sets.

As you might have realized, the Go Rogue story doesn’t end with today’s video. Beginning Friday, when the new toys go on sale, Lucasfilm and Disney are asking fans to take their figures and vehicles (yes, you have to open the packages) and submit their own episodes via StarWars.com/GoRogue for a chance to win an advanced screening of the film at Lucasfilm HQ.
