Shia LaBeouf Wears a Paper Bag on His Head at Berlin Film Festival
Shia LaBeouf certainly knows how to bag plenty of attention from critics.
The 27-year-old actor wore a paper bag on his head to the premiere of Lars Von Trier's "Nymphomaniac: Part 1" at the Berlin Film Festival Sunday night while walking the red carpet. He wrote on the bag in black marker, "I am not famous anymore."
The controversial thespian paired his interesting headwear with an otherwise ordinary black tuxedo and a bow tie.
Wearing a paper bag on his head is definitely something new for the star, but LaBeouf has been trying to send the message that he's not famous anymore since early January.
He has tweeted the phrase "I am not famous anymore" 22 times over the past two months and has not tweeted anything else beyond those words.
LaBeouf's bizarre red carpet antics came just hours after he stormed out of a press conference after being asked about what it was like to star in a movie with so many sex scenes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, LaBeouf answered, "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Thank you very much."
The quote is from French soccer legend Eric Cantona, who said it at a press conference in 1995 after being convicted for assault. Catona is featured in Ken Loach's film, "Looking for Eric," which ends with the footage of Catona's press conference and his legendary seagull remark.

After LaBeouf's response, he promptly exited the room while the rest of his co-stars, Christian Slater, Stacy Martin, Stellan Skarsgard, Uma Thurman and producer Louise Vesth, looked on and continued the press conference. Slater followed up LaBeouf's abrupt exit by joking about the film. "Obviously, the script is packed with a lot of sardines... one sardine after another."
During his short appearance at the press conference LaBeouf, who is currently missing a lower bottom tooth, looked disheveled in a dirty hat and a hoodie.
The embattled actor's trouble in Berlin started on Saturday night, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Fans of the former "Transformers" star reportedly tried to snap his photo and LaBeouf lunged at the fans. Thankfully, his pals stepped in to resolve the situation before it got out of hand.
The former Disney star hasn't exactly kicked off this year on the right foot.
In January, he issued a series of apologies to graphic novelist Daniel Clowes, whom he plagiarized in his short film "HowardCantour.com." LaBeouf attempted to correct his misstep by issuing an apology, which he plagiarized from a Yahoo Answers question, and then tried to apologize again by hiring a skywriter to write a mea culpa for all of Los Angeles to see. Later that month the actor got into a spat with comedian Jim Carrey after the "Ace Ventura" star took a crack at him during the 2014 Golden Globes ceremony.
Perhaps LaBeouf will issue an apology for his latest antics in Berlin, as well.
