Captain America Statue Unveiled at Comic-Con

According to Marvel, the towering figure is the largest single item the publisher has ever featured at a Comic-Con booth. Designed in conjunction with Comicave Studios, the statue features Steve Rogers holding his shield aloft. The inscription on the pedestal reads, “I’m just a kid from Brooklyn” and is emblazoned with “Hometown Pride, Est. 1941, Celebrating 75 Heroic Years.” The Captain America statue will be displayed at Comic-Con through Sunday and then packed up and shipped to Brooklyn. Marvel said the statue also embark on a road tour at some point.

This being Comic-Con means that Comicave, which specializes in high-end collectibles for major brands like Marvel, DC, Disney, and Hello Kitty, will be offering 1/12- and ¼-scale pewter versions of its Cap creation for sale. Because of its heft, the ¼-scale version will only be available for online orders, but the smaller size can be yours for $450.
Meanwhile, just a few aisles down, another Captain America statue was on display: This one made of 24,000 Lego bricks.
And for those lucky enough to get a golden ticket, Lego also has this 75th anniversary Captain America minifigure.
Happy birthday, Cap.
