Daniel Craig Keeps the Cranky 'SPECTRE' Interviews Coming
God bless Daniel Craig. Recently, he’s been making headlines for being “cranky” and blunt about James Bond, while doing press for the latest film in the series, SPECTRE The trouble all began earlier this month, when a Time Out reporter asked Craig if he’d be interested in doing another Bond movie. Infamously, the actor colorfully replied, “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists…All I want to do is move on.”
Granted, a simple ‘no’ would have worked in this instance, but when you’re an action star, you gotta break something. He followed all this up with, “Look, I don’t give a f— [who plays Bond after me]. Good luck to them! … Make it better, that’s all.”
But Daniel Craig was just getting started. In a later sit-down with Red Bulletin, he had a few choice words for Bond’s relationships with women. “Let’s not forget that he’s actually a misogynist,” he quipped. In yet another interview, this time to the Britain version of Esquire, “He’s very f—ing lonely…He’s f—ing these beautiful women but then they leave, and it’s…sad.”
Just yesterday, Craig maybe added the proverbial cherry on top of his “I’m getting too old for this interview circuit” schtick, when a too-cheeky ITV journalist insisted he flash her a little of his trademark pout. “I think you need to move on,” was the chilly, characteristically reserved, and hilarious response she got instead. The video has since gone viral.
Sure, it all seems like a lot of unnecessary Craig Shade to be throwing, but maybe he’s just tired of the attention. As he recently put it in his Red Bulletin interview, “Let’s not talk these films up as some kind of life-changing experience.”
Keep it up, Daniel Craig!
