Dwayne Johnson Is Lost In the Jungle (Just Humor Him...) in New 'Jumanji' Set Video
Is Dwayne Johnson starring in a Jumanji sequel or a reboot of Man vs. Wild? You’d forgive us for the confusion based on the urgent tone of this video clip that the star recently posted on his official Facebook page, directly from the movie’s Hawaiian set. “We are deep in the jungle,” Johnson says, sounding genuinely stressed. “This is as real as it gets. I have had no water, no food, I’ve been catching fish with my bare hands!” Things have gotten so rough for the cast of Jumanji 2, poor Karen Gillan has apparently been reduced to wearing children’s clothes!
But don’t start organizing that rescue mission just yet. As the Rock continues to describe his adventures in the wilderness, the camera pans to his right and reveals a sizable camera crew behind him, setting up the next shot on the Jake Kasdan-directed follow-up to Joe Johnston’s 1995 family film staple. In classic Wizard of Oz fashion, Johnson implores us to pay no attention to the crew behind the curtain, but storms away in mock-fury saying, “You ruined the shot!” Was Vin Diesel holding the camera or something?
