'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' Exclusive Deleted Scene: To Catch a Demiguise
Looking to grab some more face time with a fantastic beast, but don’t know where to find them? Allow Yahoo Movies to locate one for you in this exclusive deleted scene (watch it above) from the hit Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which arrives on Blu-ray on March 28. The sequence finds magizoologist, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), in hot pursuit of a demiguise, a sloth-like creature with precognitive powers, as well as the ability to turn invisible. Because it can see the future, or the most probable version of it anyway, the only way to trap a demiguise is to do something completely unpredictable. Enter Newt’s unlikely sidekick, No-Maj Baker, Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), who accompanies his new friend on a quest to recover a batch of missing beasts who are on the loose in 1920s New York.

It’s important to note that the demiguise effects aren’t finished yet, but this sequence does highlight the movie’s beautiful production and costume design. In fact, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them became the first entry in the Potter franchise to win an Oscar, with costume designer Colleen Atwood picking up a statue for her resplendent period outfits. That’s a fantastic way to begin a new five-film series.
