From Epic Batcave to Superman Showdown: Lego Goes Batty for Caped Crusader
It will take plenty of dark nights to put together all the Batman-themed sets Lego has in store for 2016. Between Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (due in theaters March 25) and the 50th anniversary of the campy Adam West-powered Batman TV series (it debuted on Jan. 12, 1966), the brickmeisters will be releasing four different sets centered on the Caped Crusader.
First up is a trio of models based on Batman v. Superman that just hit stores this month. The first — and smallest at 92 pieces — Clash of the Heroes ($13), features Bats and Supes facing off in a scene that has played out in the film’s trailers. It includes the Bat-Signal and, to even the playing field, a Kryptonite bazooka.

Then there’s Kryptonite Interception ($30), which includes the Dark Knight, his tricked-out new Batmobile, and a bunch of Lex Luthor’s henchmen. The set contains 306 pieces.
Lastly, there’s the 516-piece Heroes of Justice: Sky-High Battle ($60) pitting Lex’s LexCorp chopper against the Batwing. The playset includes five minifigs: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, and Lois Lane.
But the crown jewel of the Bat brickapalooza is the Batcave. Straight out of the swinging ‘60s, the 2,526-piece, $270 set includes signature elements of stately Wayne Manor, among them: a wall perfect for Batman and Robin to practice climbing; the Batphone hotline to Commissioner Gordon’s office; and a Shakespeare bust that triggers the fake bookcase entry into the Batcave (with separate Batpoles for Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, natch).
The Batcave proper contains all of the Dynamic Duo’s favorite toys: the Batcomputer, Batcycle (with Robin’s sidecar), Batcopter, and, of course, the iconic Batmobile, one of the most famous rides in TV history.

Aside from Batman, Robin, and their alter egos, Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, there are minifigs of the Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, and faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth.
All that’s missing is that theme song.
The Batcave will be available March 1.
