Golden Globe Awards 2017: The Complete Winners List
Awards season kicked into high gear Sunday as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association handed out its Golden Globes in a ceremony hosted by the Tonight Show‘s Jimmy Fallon. La La Land set a record with seven awards, winning every category in which it nominated, including Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, while Moonlight was named Best Motion Picture, Drama. Casey Affleck won Best Actor, Drama, for his role in Manchester by the Sea, while Ryan Gosling won the same honor for Musical or Comedy for his role in La La Land. Isabelle Huppert (Elle) captured Best Actress, Drama, while Emma Stone (La La Land) took the same prize for Musical or Comedy. Viola Davis won Best Supporting Actress for Fences.
On the TV side, Atlanta won Best Series, Musical or Comedy, with its star, Donald Glover, taking Best Actor, Musical or Comedy. The Crown won Best Drama series; its star, Claire Foy, won Best Actress, Drama. Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish) won Best Actress, Musical or Comedy, and Billy Bob Thornton (Goliath) took Best Actor, Drama.
Meanwhile, Meryl Streep was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement, giving a passionate acceptance speech defending the arts and lashing out at President-elect Donald Trump.
