Golden Globes 2016: Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer Showed How Totally BFFs They Are
Moments after Ricky Gervais tweaked the Internet’s obsession with Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer’s budding friendship, the two actresses took the stage at the Golden Globes Sunday night and proved just why they’re such a dynamic duo. (Watch the video above.)
The actresses, who were both up for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, were onstage to introduce clips of their respective nominated movies, Joy and Trainwreck. And they earned some of the biggest laughs of the night by also playing on how much people seem to be charmed by their recent friendship.

“Hello, I’m J.Law,” the Joy actress told the audience. “And I’m A.Schu,” the Trainwreck writer-actress added, much to Lawrence’s (scripted) confusion. When Lawrence told Schumer that, sorry, she can’t just give herself a nickname, Schumer was discouraged. But the idea of a celebrity couple nickname did get her excited.
The gag soon revealed Schumer’s taste in men: big and strong, with her love of Tom Hardy and all three Hemsworth brothers making her list of potential nickname buddies.
There’s bound to be much more of this kind of banter on the way, since Schumer and Lawrence just wrote a screenplay together. And who knows? Maybe they’ll be up there in a few years accepting an award together.
