Ryan Reynolds Disses 'Wolverine' in Meta 'Deadpool' Spot

Deadpool wants the land down under to know he’s thinking of them. He wished the nation of Australia a “Happy Australia Day! ‘Cause that’s a real thing!” in a new video clip, though his message wasn’t without caveats.
“You gave us Wolverine, and for that, I can’t forgive you,” he said in his best Aussie accent. “I’ve got no problems with Hugh [Jackman], I mean, he’s a delightful guy, a true legend. But the movie [X-Men Origins: Wolverine], that was a career low for me. You understand.”
The Hugh Jackman-led Wolverine introduced Reynolds as Deadpool, but the character was a far cry from his comic-book roots and nothing like he’ll appear in the new movie.

You’ll have to wait until Deadpool hits U.S. theaters on Feb. 12 to find out if he makes more fun of Wolverine in hilarious ways. The film arrives in Australian theaters the day before.
