Peek at 'Poe Dameron': First Look at New 'Star Wars' Comic Starring 'Force Awakens' Space Ace
“That’s one hell of a pilot!”
Yes, the guy who can fly anything, Poe Dameron, is back in action. As previously announced, the ace Resistance pilot and one of the young heroes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (played by Oscar Isaac) is getting an eponymous Marvel comic series beginning next month.
Set before the events of the blockbuster film (which arrives on home video in April), Star Wars: Poe Dameron No. 1 finds the X-wing jockey, accompanied by faithful droid BB-8, leading a squadron of pilots on a top-secret mission under orders from General Leia Organa. The story is written by Charles Soule (whose Star Wars comic credits include Lando and Obi-Wan and Anakin) and illustrated by Phil Noto (Chewbacca). The inaugural issue features an appropriately silly back-up story featuring BB-8 on a solo adventure, written and illustrated by Chris Eliopoulos (Hawkeye).
Now we get see the initial pages of the comic, sans text.
And here’s a sneak peek at the BB-8 story:
And here are the variant covers that will be available in comic shops, along with Poe and BB-8 buttons, lithographs, and postcards (yep, Marvel is going all out to promote this title). Happy flying!
