Reese Witherspoon’s 4-Year-Old Is Confused by His Mom’s Animated Role in ‘Sing’
In the upcoming animated musical, Sing, Reese Witherspoon lent her voice to Rosita, a pig who is a housewife and a mother to a whole lot of piglets, who also likes to sing and dance. Her three children, two teenagers and a 4-year-old, recently saw the film, which is set to be released Dec. 21, and it left her youngest, Tennessee, a little confused. Witherspoon revealed on Ellen exactly why the youngster hasn’t quite grasped animation yet.
“Every morning he wakes up and he’s like, ‘Hold on. It’s your voice, but you’re not a pig,’” said Witherspoon.
After not being able to explain it to her son, Witherspoon came up with an alternative: Lie. She tells him it’s magic, and has found that to be the perfect answer for a 4-year-old who doesn’t understand the world yet, no matter the question.
“I realized, why don’t you just, anytime a 4-year-old says, I don’t know, ‘Why is the sky blue?’ ‘Magic,’” said Witherspoon.
