Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe Get Animated in 'Nice Guys' Cartoon Short

The Nice Guys guys have the movie marketing game solved. Earlier this week they released a hilarious “junket outtake” featuring livid producer Joel Silver berating stars Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe over the movie’s summer blockbuster competition.

Now they’ve released this animated short (watch above) that reimagines the Shane Black-directed action-comedy as a retro-style (or Adult Swim-esque throwback) cartoon. It’s only one minute long, but it’s slick and stylized, and, best of all, it’s got mermaids.

It also makes you want more. If Silver really is worried about The Nice Guys’ box-office chances (despite the film’s stellar reviews), at least he’s got a potential spin-off here.
