New 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Teaser Brings Back Han and Chewie, Shows Off New Baddies
Han Solo and Chewbacca are reunited in the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which premiered Thursday morning at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California. The new trailer (watch it above!) offers audiences their first glimpse of Harrison Ford in full Han regalia alongside his furry companion (played by Peter Mayhew). No doubt he echoes the feelings of millions of fans with the trailer’s final line: “Chewie, we’re home.”

Unlike the first teaser trailer, which showed only glimpses of new Star Wars cast members John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Daisy Ridley, this one connects their stories to the larger Star Wars universe. A voiceover from Mark Hamill echoes of Luke Skywalker’s lines from Return of the Jedi, in which he reveals to Leia (Carrie Fisher) that she is his sister. ( “The Force runs strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. And my sister has it.”) But this time, there’s a crucial change: He’s telling another family member that they have The Force as well. Could that person be Rey, the mysterious shipyard scavenger played by Ridley?

Besides teasing the plot, the trailer gives fans plenty of images to chew on: A desiccated Darth Vader skull, a Star Destroyer beached in the desert, and a new look at a mysterious villain should keep everyone guessing until the next big reveal.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18.
