This Twist in the New 'Terminator: Genisys' Trailer Changes Everything
The new trailer for Terminator Genysis is like stepping into a parallel universe where everything you know has been turned on its synthetic humanoid ear. And it also appears to give away a major plot twist, so close this post now if you don’t want to know.
Just like in the original Terminator, Sarah Connor (now played by Emilia Clarke) is in trouble. But now, thanks to time travel, she’s ready for it — which blows the mind of Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), the freedom fighter who has gone back to a past he has already changed. Reese was definitely not expecting mild-mannered Sarah to have a huge garage filled with heavy weaponry and a pal/protector in a T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger).

Even more confusing: Sarah’s son, John Connor, who has been prepared for the coming war since 1991′s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, travels back to the original film’s timeline to meet his mother. He’s not the son that Sarah remembers, and not just because he’s now played by Dawn of the Planet of the Apes star Jason Clarke.
Spoiler alert, in John’s own words: “I’m not machine and not man. I’m more.”
Presuming he’s not actually animatronic, we’ll have to wait to find out exactly what is more than man and machine. Terminator Genisys hits theaters on July 1.
