The Cast and Crew of 'Steve Jobs' Are Terrible With Technology

They may play real-life computer geniuses and influential computer moguls, but the stars of Steve Jobs aren’t exactly devotees of the tech innovations that their characters helped introduce to the world.

Much of the cast of the hit new drama sat down with Yahoo Movies in London earlier this month to discuss the film, and they were nearly unanimous in professing their tech illiteracy. When asked if they had any favorite iPhone apps, none of the actors could think of a single example.

“I have probably less than a dozen apps in my entire life,” said Seth Rogen, who plays programming genius Steve Wozniak. “I’m not someone who’s looking for more reasons to be on their telephone — I’m generally looking for less reasons.”

Director Danny Boyle, meanwhile, said that he’s not a digital natural — and is “hanging on by my fingernails to all the new advances.”

Earlier this year, star Michael Fassbender, who plays Apple co-founder Jobs himself, told Yahoo Movies that he was absolutely awful with tech.

“There’s a lot of things about technology that would probably shock you, about my adeptness about dealing with technology,” Fassbender joked. “I’m the worst person at it, so it was the perfect match for me to play him.”

Steve Jobs is in theaters now.
