Looks like the Rock is cooking up some fun at the beach.

The global superstar and superhuman specimen otherwise known as Dwayne Johnson, has spent the last few days gleefully posting Instagram photos from the set of his big screen reboot of Baywatch. The 43-year-old actor, as he explains in several of the photo captions, is playing a lifeguard named Mitch Buchannon (a role originated by David Hasselhoff in the ‘90s TV series), while co-star Zac Efron — seen in the photo below wearing a skintight bathing suit and wetsuit top — plays Matt Brody (a character originally played by David Charvet.)

As a producer on the big screen reboot of the campy TV series, Johnson was charged with helping to cast the film. As he noted in the caption for the photo below, that included finding his on-screen love interest, Stephanie Holden. He ultimately landed on Ilfenesh Hadera, who co-stars in the Showtime soap Billions and appears in Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq. Johnson called the actress a “ 5’11 talented, bad ass smokestack.”

The cast also includes Johnson’s San Andreas co-star Alexandra Daddario, Blindspot star Priyanka Chopra, and comedian Hannibal Buress. It’s uncertain whether original Baywatch star Pamela Anderson will be making an appearance in the film; she recently teased that she was offered a cameo (her role, CJ Parker, is being filled by Kelly Rohrbach), but said that she hadn’t read the script and wasn’t sure what would end up happening.

“They’ve mentioned some cute [ideas for me], but I don’t want to give it away,” she told ET Canada.

Baywatch, directed by Seth Gordon, hits theaters in May 2017.
