Ex-Oasis Singer Liam Gallagher Sued by New York Journalist for Not Paying Child Support

After legendary public fights with his brother/ex-bandmate Noel, scraps with photographers, and heated arguments with rival musicians, volatile vocalist Noel Gallagher is now being accused of being a deadbeat dad.
Liza Ghorbani, a 39-year-old New York-based writer, has filed a suit against Gallagher for $3 million, claiming that he is not taking responsibility for helping to raise their daughter.
Forsaking the cardinal rule of journalism — that is, not to get too close to one's subjects — Ghorbani allegedly had an affair with the singer after she was assigned to write a story for the New York Times column "A Night Out With." Ghorbani detailed the experience bar hopping and wandering through the Big Apple in a glowing article that came out in May 2010, but she seems to have left out some major details.
The New York Post reported that Ghorbani and Gallagher entered into an affair that lasted until three months after the birth of Ghorbani's daughter, who is now seven months old. Gallagher allegedly dumped the scribe when she threatened to sue him for child support.
The New York Post also noted that Ghorbani is considering undergoing DNA tests to confirm Gallagher is, in fact, the baby daddy. And the paper added that Gallagher acknowledged to an unnamed source that he’s the father: "Liam admitted the child is his in an e-mail, saying she is a beautiful child because she has 'rock star genes,'" the source said.
Ghorbani filed suit in Manhattan family court. The Post reported that the judge is Matthew Troy, who adjourned the case until later this month.
Gallagher, 40, married All Saints singer Nicole Appleton on February 14, 2008. His representatives say he will sue the New York Post for the story, which he insists is a fabrication. "We are not going to comment [further] on gossip," the spokesman said.
If Ghorbani's claims that Gallagher conceived her daughter are true, it wouldn't be the first time Gallagher has had a child out of wedlock. The Oasis frontman was married to actress Patsy Kensit from April 1997 until they divorced in 2000. His first daughter, Molly, was born in March 1998, the result of an affair with English singer/songwriter Lisa Moorish.
Kensit has told the British press that Gallagher slept with Moorish one week after their wedding. The singer continues to pay Moorish about $3,000 a month in child support. Gallagher and Kensit's only child, Lennon Francis, was born in September, 1999. Gallagher’s current wife gave birth to his second son, Gene, on July 2, 2001.
Gallagher's current band Beady Eye released their second album, BE, on June 10.
