Both were taken to the hospital, where one of the riders was pronounced dead. A woman, believed to be the passenger, is currently listed in critical condition. Both victims are in their early 30s, according to police.

Grandview police said it does not appear that either was wearing a helmet during the crash.

The Grandview Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. At this time, they said the crash seemed to have occurred as the motorcycle was using a construction zone to pass other drivers. The driver of the motorcycle lost control and crashed.
