1 dead after overnight shooting on interstate in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after a 22-year-old was killed while driving on the interstate.

Police said the shooting happened around midnight on north I-110 near the Government Street exit.

Antoine Bowie, 22, and a passenger were heading north on the interstate when gunshots were fired from another vehicle and hit them. BRPD said Bowie died at the scene from gunshot injuries and the passenger was taken to the hospital. According to the police, the passenger is expected to survive.
