1 dead after shooting incident in Niagara Falls
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man was pronounced dead following an apparent shooting incident Saturday night in Niagara Falls, city officials announced.
Officials said around 8:50 p.m. police responded to the area of 449 9th St. where they found a large crowd from a nearby memorial gathering and an unresponsive male victim on the front lawn. The victim appeared to have gunshot wounds to the chest, according to police.
Officers provided lifesaving measures to the victim, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials said. The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
Police said a male suspect was allegedly last seen running south on the 400 block of 9th Street. An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
