1 hospitalized after overnight shooting in Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One person was hospitalized following a shooting early Sunday morning on the corner of Genesee and Fougeron Streets, Buffalo police officials announced.
Authorities said at 4 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting inside of a building where a party was allegedly taking place.
One male victim was shot and transported by a private vehicle to ECMC, where he is currently receiving medical treatment, officials said. His injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
A firearm was recovered at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing. Police said they are looking into the nature of the party and whether the location had the required permits to host the event. They are also identifying the promoter involved.
