1 injured in two-vehicle collision in Town of Leroy
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Batavia man was injured in a two-vehicle collision Friday morning in the Town of Leroy, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Officials said the crash was reported at 7:23 a.m. and occurred at the intersection of Griswold and West Bergen Roads. Upon arrival, police saw that 44-year-old Gregory Baker, who was operating a Chevrolet Silverado, was still buckled into his seat that was ejected out of the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
The other vehicle, a Kenworth tractor trailer, was operated by 29-year-old Richard McCullough of Leroy and had a juvenile passenger, police said.
Authorities said an initial investigation revealed that Baker was traveling east on Griswold Road and McCullough and traveling north on West Bergen Road when Baker allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the tractor trailer.
Baker was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with non-life threatening injuries and McCullough and the juvenile were uninjured, officials said.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
