Jayalalithaa Jayaram - Like I had to bring her up at the first place - who doesn’t know about her. The veteran actress who enjoyed the status of a superstar in South Indian movies back in the day has been elected as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu five times. Can anyone beat that?
Hema Malini - The original dream girl of Indian cinema discovered her interest in politics while campaigning for BJP in 1999 and officially involved herself with the party in 2004. She is a Member of Parliament as on today representing Mathura.

Rekha – There was a time she had almost occupied the coveted throne of Bollywood’s first lady, failing which the ageless beauty of Indian cinema turned toward politics – and she didn’t fail this time. Rekha was nominated as a member of Rajya Sabha in May 2012.

Gul Panag – This former Miss India had a small gig in Bollywood, and none of you will be blamed for forgetting a relevant role that she played in small or big screen. Nevertheless, she earned quite a name in the entertainment circuit which she tooled to secure a career in politics, as a part of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Kirron Kher – When being recognized for her flawless acting and judging a talent show wasn’t enough for the multi-talented actress, she joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Always impeccable in stunning sarees, the MP from Chandigarh did complain once, that women in the parliament are judged for their looks, but then, let’s face it – isn’t it the case in every field. Besides, Kirron is undoubtedly gorgeous, so not sure why she would complain and not be flattered.

Smriti Irani – Well… Well… Well… Do I even need to say anything? Like anything at all? Even a single word? Okay, just for the sake of it, let me introduce to you the Vice President of BJP who assumed office in May 2014, and is now the Minister of Human Resource Development. Of course we all know that before entering politics she was India’s favorite bahu who made us all cry rivers for 8 long years. (I am sure all the manufacturers of glycerin vote for her.)
I have casted my Vote. I urge ppl to come out in large no’s & Vote for your Nation #Loksabha #Elections2014 #Mumbai pic.twitter.com/XnzU50r7BH
Rakhi Sawant – Go ahead… laugh your guts out; but fact of the matter is Rakhi is a politician. Rakhi has had quite an interesting political journey so far… from being an Independent Candidate to forming the Rashtriya Aam Party to resigning from the same and joining RPI (Athavale). The actress serves as the president of woman wing and state vice-president for the party and aims at working for the Dalits, which I acknowledge is a great intention.
