“During these summer months (in Ohio) the expected traffic volume increase brings with it an increase in crashes,” troopers stated.
The 4th of July weekend has been especially deadly on Ohio roads in recent years.
There have been 50 fatal crashes during the Independence Day weekend in just the last three years, according to law enforcement.
Troopers said alcohol and drugs account for many of those crashes, as well as speeding.
