12 artists who should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame
Good morning, friends, this is Nashville storytelling columnist Brad Schmitt.
Our Tennessean music team ain't playin', y'all — they've come up with 12 country stars who they think should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame but aren't.
It's an interesting list, with a few obvious choices, and one or two that are a bit outside the box.
Bobbie Gentry?
"Unlike others on this list, Bonnie Gentry's career doesn't span half-a-century or feature a laundry list of lifetime accolades," the music team wrote. "But what she accomplished in her short time as a country singer should resonate for generations to come."
OK, fellers, go git it!
Check out the other picks on this list from Matthew Leimkuehler, Marcus K. Dowling, Dave Paulson, and let 'em know what you think.
And speaking of Matt, Marcus and Dave, they really are the best. Please consider signing up for their newsletter, The Pick, for the latest and most intriguing coverage of Nashville's diverse music scene. It ain't just country anymore, folks.
