LISTEN: Fireworks heard as crews battle house fire

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WJW) — The sound of fireworks could be heard as firefighters battled a house fire on Tennyson Lane early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters from North Olmsted and several area communities were called to the home at 4011 Tennyson Lane at just before 3 a.m.

According to crews at the scene, they had to fight the fire defensively because there were “hoarding conditions” inside the house.

Police said as many as 18 cats were inside the home at the time of the fire. Only three of the 18 cats survived, according to authorities.

Two men who were living inside the home were able to escape.
