2 arrested after dozens of fentanyl pills found in Malakoff home

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KETK) — Two have been arrested in connection to a fentanyl bust in Henderson County on Tuesday.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said at around 3:27 p.m. deputies and investigators conducted a narcotics search warrant along with an arrest warrant for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance at 207 West Dewey Street in Malakoff.

During the search, Vanoid Leroy Dawson Jr., a wanted fugitive, was apprehended for an outstanding warrant for manufacture delivery of a controlled substance.

Officials reportedly found a large quantity of blue M30 fentanyl pills, cocaine, a large amount of cash, baggies and scales which were “used in the packaging and distribution of narcotics.”

Deputies also arrested Kelli Jo Chapman who was reportedly found to have fentanyl in her possession.

Dawson and Chapman were taken to the Henderson County Jail and arrested for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance. Chapman is being held on a $350,000 bond and Dawson on a $410,000 bond.
