BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two people were arrested after two Buffalo police officers were injured in an incident near Schiller Park early Thursday morning, according to city officials.

Around 12 a.m., officers say they responded to Blake Street for a trespassing call. There, they found a male and a female in the back of a vehicle parked in the driveway. When they were commanded to unlock their doors, the male allegedly jumped into the driver’s seat and attempted to flee.

The driver struck a pole in the backyard of a Kerns Avenue home and drove through shrubs and a fence, officials said. The vehicle eventually came to a stop and the occupants were apprehended.
