At around 8:20 a.m. a caller reported seeing a man with a gun and then heard gunshots near the Starling Bay Town Houses on Plomondon Street, officials said.

Across the street is a community center and school. One woman who works in the building said they were on lock down for roughly 45 minutes.

When officers arrived, they said they found two people dead at the scene.

Authorities said the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identities of the people who died and the cause and manner of death at a future date.

Neighbors told KOIN 6 they did not hear the shots, though many commented that the once-quiet neighborhood changed for the worse after the COVID pandemic.
