2 hospitalized after rollover crash in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Erie County Department of Senior Services van was flipped on its side Wednesday afternoon after a crash at the corner of Oak and West Tupper Streets.

Buffalo police accident investigators said just before noon, a Jeep Cherokee was traveling south on Oak Street when it struck the van, causing it to roll over. The van was driving east on West Tupper Street at the time of the accident.

Authorities said the driver of the Jeep, an 18-year-old male, and a passenger in the van, a 66-year-old male, were transported by ambulance to ECMC.

The injuries to the 66-year-old appear serious in nature, officials said.

Police are investigating if the Jeep ran a red light before striking the van.
