2 local pizza carriers robbed at gunpoint on same day
AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — Two pizza delivery drivers reported being robbed at gunpoint on the same day in Akron, according to a news release.
Police said the descriptions of the suspects given in both cases were similar. Detectives are now working to determine if the incidents are related.

The first robbery happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6. The driver was sent to deliver a pizza to an abandoned house in the 1200 block of Smithfarm Avenue, according to a Monday news release.
When the driver arrived, the suspect “appeared and pointed a gun at him,” taking the pizza and cash and fleeing, according to the release.
The suspect was described as a taller Black male, about 18 years old, wearing a mask, black winter coat and black pants. A second suspect in the incident was described as a white male, about 14 to 16 years old, wearing a white T-shirt.
The second robbery happened just after 11 p.m., at a home in the 300 block of Para Avenue.
The person living at the home told the pizza delivery driver they did not order a pizza. When the driver returned to the car, the suspect brandished a gun, demanding the pizza and the victim’s property, according to the release.
The suspect was described as a Black male, about 18 to 20 years old.
