1 dead, another injured after two-vehicle crash in West Seneca
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One person is dead and another was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in West Seneca early Sunday night, West Seneca Police Lieutenant Jonathan Luterek said.
According to Luterek, both vehicles were believed to be driving eastbound on Clinton Street approaching Borden Road when a Toyota RAV4, driven by a 48-year-old Cheektowaga man, appeared to rear-end a minivan, driven by a 76-year-old woman.
The Toyota flipped over and landed in the northwest part of the intersection of Clinton Street and Borden Road and the minivan landed in a collision shop parking lot, where it struck several vehicles, Luterek said.
The woman, identified by police as Irene Mair, was taken to ECMC and later died. The other driver is in serious but stable condition.
Based on the police’s investigation, they believe speed was a factor.
