2 youths stabbed in connection with assault in downtown Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two juvenile males were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after being stabbed in downtown Buffalo in an apparent incident of self-defense, police officials announced.
The incident took place around 12:30 p.m. near Main and Mohawk Streets, where the two males were stabbed in connection with an assault involving other individuals, police said. Around ten juveniles were assaulting a 15-year-old boy who then stabbed the two in self-defense, according to Buffalo Police.
The two juveniles were transported to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where one is in critical but stable condition and the other was treated for apparent non-life-threatening injuries. They were both taken into surgery and are expected to be okay.
A knife was recovered a short time later.
The 15-year-old says he does not want to file charges for being assaulted. Police are looking into justice on the school level.
