$25,000 a year for life lottery ticket sold in Topeka, winner claims prize
TOPEKA (KSNT) – The winner of a recent Lucky 4 Life lottery prize in northeast Kansas stepped forward Wednesday to claim a big prize.
27 News spoke with Cory Thone, a spokesman for the Kansas Lottery, on Sept. 3 after learning a lottery player in northeast Kansas purchased a winning ticket in the Lucky 4 Life game. This prize, while not the top reward for the game, still netted the player either a lump sum of $390,000 or $25,000 a year for life.
The player didn’t wait long to claim the prize, coming forward on Sept. 4 with the lucky ticket. The winning numbers for this drawing were 17-22-27-35-42 with a ‘Lucky Ball’ of 17.
“The winner did come in to claim their prize yesterday!” Thone said. “They have not decided yet whether they want to take the $390,000 lump sum option or the $25,000 a year for life option, and they have 60 days to make that decision.”

Thone said the winner chose to remain anonymous but was “incredibly excited and appreciative” to stake a claim on the money. The ticket was sold at a Gas N Shop gas station at 1900 Northwest Topeka Boulevard which is now eligible for $1,000 bonus.
The top prize for the Lucky 4 Life game is $1,000 a day for life or a $5.7 million cash option. The amount won by the lottery player in Topeka equates to $17,750 a year or $276,900 for the cash option after state and federal taxes. Learn more about Lucky 4 Life by clicking here.
