25 organizations join in CHP’s school supply giveaway in Champaign
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Community Health Partnership of Illinois hosted their third annual back-to-school event on Saturday afternoon at Champaign Urbana Public Health District.
25 organizations from around Champaign County gave away school supplies and resources to students. CUPHD partnered with CHP to provide the space for the event, ensuring students were up-to-date on their physicals before school starts.

“It’s very important because the school district has a limit of time for these kids to get their sports physicals,” organizer Diana Mendoza said. “If not, they go noncompliant, and then they cannot attend school. Our goal is to be able to take all the kids that need an appointment.”
The event will return again next summer.
