3 charged with stealing mail from Cheektowaga post office
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three men were charged by criminal complaint with conspiracy and theft of mail following an incident at a Cheektowaga post office last week, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
It is alleged that around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 2, 24-year-old Antonio Jones, Jr., 26-year-old Lamor Runell Bolden and 32-year-old Michael Robinson drove up to the blue mailboxes outside of the USPS on Cayuga Road in an SUV.
Two of the men exited the vehicle and walked around to the back of the mailboxes. One of them allegedly used a key to access the mailboxes and remove the content, officials said. The third man allegedly remained on “lookout.”
The SUV was later pulled over by Cheektowaga police. Officials said Jones, Bolden and Robinson were in the vehicle as well as an arrow key and a “substantial amount” of mail.
The three men face a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
