3 employees hospitalized following chemical spill in Niagara County

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three employees were hospitalized following a chemical spill at a Niagara County manufacturing plant early Monday, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 100 gallons of chemical spilled at the Archem, Inc. building, located on Inducon Road in Sanborn, around 3:20 a.m. Monday. The spill was contained to inside of the building and was secured by fire crews.

Two of the employees were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and one was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for evaluation and precautionary decontamination.

Authorities said there are no risks to surrounding businesses or residences. The incident is still under investigation.
