BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three people were hospitalized following a single-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning near the SUNY Niagara campus, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies received a report of a rollover crash around 3:40 a.m. on Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn, and it was confirmed upon arrival that a vehicle had overturned and was against a tree, according to officials.
Officials said the driver was pinned inside the vehicle and was eventually freed by fire officials while the front seat and rear seat passengers were assisted by witnesses and deputies, respectively. All three individuals were taken to ECMC for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The 22-year-old driver from Lockport was issued traffic tickets for unlicensed operation as well as unsafe lane change and the rear seat passenger was issued a ticket for no seat belt.
