Cardigans are back, baby.

Retailers and designers have been proclaiming that the once fuddy-duddy knitwear item is the new It thing to have in your wardrobe.

And apparently, we’re falling for it hook, line, and sinker.

French brand Sezane has revealed it has a 30,000 person waiting list for its cardigan.

The Barry Jumper must be the most comfortable, luxurious cardie in the world if that’s the case.

Costing £90, the design has sold out multiple times since its release in September.

Luckily, it’s part of Sezane’s permanent collection of Parisian-looking pieces so will be restocked over and over again.

As the Sezane site states: “You will never get bored of your Barry jumper because whether in light grey, ecru, nude, or black, it is perfect for all occasions.”

It’s unclear why this particular cardigan is so popular although it might be down to the support of a few select influencers.

Instagrammers with huge followings have posted pictures of themselves wearing the cardigan (either the normal way or the ‘high fashion’ backwards way).

Mega influencer Camille Rowe (423,000 followers and counting) also stars in the brand’s campaign, which probably hasn’t hindered their sales.

Proof that there’s power in Instagram.

If you’ve now fallen in love with the cardigan, it’s set to be restocked today and again on 13 December. Don’t miss out.
