4 arrested, 1 wanted in connection to car thefts in Plaquemine
IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office has made several arrests in connection with multiple car burglaries in and around the Plaquemine area.
“These suspects have burglarized over 20 vehicles. Guns and wallets are some of the items that were taken,” IPSO said in a Facebook post.
IPSO charged Mairickey Stewart, 19, with 13 counts of aggravated burglary, four counts of simple burglary, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and resisting by flight.
Shyquan Harris, 19, and a 16-year-old juvenile were charged with 13 counts of aggravated burglary. Another 16-year-old suspect was charged with 13 counts of aggravated burglary, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and resisting by flight.
Warnell Babineaux, 24, remains at large. Once apprehended, Babineaux will be charged with 13 counts of aggravated burglary, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Plaquemine Police Department will also be filing charges against the suspects, according to IPSO. Deputies encourage residents to keep their vehicles locked and remove any valuable items they have in their cars.
