4 firefighters injured in Nolensville house fire caused by lightning

NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Four firefighters were injured Tuesday night while battling a fire at a Nolensville home that was struck by lightning.

According to Nolensville Fire and Rescue, fire personnel were sent to the Nolen Meade area on Tuesday, July 30, at 11:30 p.m. to respond to a structure fire.

Officials said four firefighters sustained burns while fighting the blaze in an attic at the home and were taken to Williamson Medical Center and TriStar Stonecrest Medical Center to receive treatment.

Three firefighters have reportedly been discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, one remains hospitalized to be monitored for minor smoke inhalation.

Nolensville Fire and Rescue said the fire was caused by a lightning strike. No injures were reported to the residents, who are now staying with family.
