4 people, including juvenile, taken into custody for alleged robbery in Hamburg motel

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Four people were taken into custody in connection with the robbery of a 25-year-old man Saturday, according to Hamburg police.

According to officials, the man allegedly went to a Motel 6 on Camp Road at 2:30 a.m. to meet up with a woman he had met earlier at a Depew bar. Two men in ski masks allegedly pointed a firearm at him as he entered the hotel room and took his personal belongings. Police said the men repeatedly punched the man before fleeing the scene.

Their vehicle was stopped and four people, including a juvenile female, were taken into custody a short time later: 22-year-old Kristina Eaves of Buffalo, 25-year-old Rayquan Colbert of Tonawanda, 27-year-old Lawrence Colbert of Tonawanda and the juvenile.

Further investigation revealed that the firearm used in the crime was a pepperball gun, police said.

The following charges were filed:

  • second-degree robbery, aided by another

  • second-degree robbery, display what appears to be a weapon

  • third-degree assault

  • petit larceny

  • second-degree menacing

  • second-degree unlawful imprisonment

  • fourth-degree conspiracy

A felony hearing is scheduled for all four people on July 25. They are currently being held on $5,000 bail.
