5-vehicle crash on Skyway causes vehicle rollover, closures

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A five-vehicle crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Saturday on the inbound Skyway near the Ohio Street exit, according to Buffalo police.

Police said one vehicle rolled over and there were injuries, but they do not appear serious in nature at this time.

Authorities said traffic had to be rerouted for some time.

The crash was first reported by NITTEC at 4:58 p.m., where Route 5 East was closed from Tifft Street to I-190. The scene was cleared at 6:50 p.m., NITTEC said.

According to NITTEC, the left lane of Route 5 West beyond I-190 was also closed for about half an hour.
