$5M bond set for suspect in hit-skip that killed child
WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (WJW) – A $5 million bond has been set for the suspect in a hit-and-run that killed a child in Willoughby.
Donald Mynatt was arrested Wednesday morning in the 4800 block of E. 355 in Willoughby after a days-long search. He was wanted for the hit and run last month in Cleveland that took the life of 7-year-old Amir Prewitt.

Investigators believe he ran over the child, turned around in a parking lot on Lakeshore, then took off.
In court on Friday, Mynatt’s attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Last week, the I-Team reported that Mynatt was already wanted in a domestic violence case. That case will be addressed separately on Tuesday.
City Councilman Mike Polensek said he’s been dealing with Donald Mynatt and run-ins with the law since Mynatt was 15.

According to the state, Mynatt’s driver’s license is suspended due to a child support issue. His driving record also shows his license has been suspended multiple times before and he’s been convicted in the past for hit and run.
