79 year-old-woman identified as victim in Kansas City deadly shooting
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 79-year-old woman has died days after a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri.
The shooting was reported Sunday, June 30, near E. 51st Street and Park Avenue.
The Kansas City Police Department reports that officers responded to the shooting around 9:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers located a shooting victim, Ella Monroe, unresponsive inside a vehicle at the intersection of 51st and Park Avenue.

KCPD detectives and crime scene investigators then began to process the scene for evidence and canvass for potential witnesses.
Police report that the case continued to be investigated in the following days. Detectives were notified during the morning hours of Wednesday, July 3 that Monroe had died from her injuries.
KCPD said this is being investigated as a homicide.
