ABC presidential debate to take place in Philadelphia
The presidential debate hosted next month by ABC will take place in Philadelphia at the National Constitution Center, the network announced Friday.
The debate is set for Sept. 10 at 9 p.m. EDT and will be hosted by ABC News’s David Muir and Linsey Davis.
Vice President Harris’s campaign has said it will participate in two debates this cycle, including ABC’s on Sept. 10, and one vice presidential debate. Former President Trump said last week he agreed to three debates on three networks after he previously said he would not take part in the ABC event.
The ABC debate was initially set between Trump and President Biden before the president dropped out of the race last month and endorsed Harris.
Both campaigns have been laser-focused on winning the key battleground state of Pennsylvania, which Trump won in 2016 and Biden won in 2020. Trump will hold a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on Saturday, and Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), held their first rally together in Philadelphia last week.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index shows Harris narrowly ahead of Trump in the Keystone State with 47.6 percent support compared to the former president’s 47 percent.
