ABQ BioPark names baby gorilla ‘Gila’
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The new baby gorilla at the ABQ BioPark officially has a name and it pays tribute to her roots here in the Land of Enchantment. Zookeepers named the animal “Gila” in honor of the Gila Wilderness in southern New Mexico which is famously known for being the first designated wilderness area in the United States.
