UPDATE: Gas leak on Highway 55 in Freedom stopped, crews working on repair

FREEDOM, Wis. (WFRV) – An update on the gas leak that caused residents near Highway 55 in Outagamie County to evacuate has been provided, with officials saying the leak has been stopped.
According to the Freedom Fire Department, the gas leak on Highway 55 between Ludwig Street and Teardrop Lane has been stopped and utility crews are currently working on the repair.

Authorities stated that all affected residents have been notified that they can return to their homes and Highway 55 will be open to one lane while repairs are being made.

A Facebook post from the Freedom Fire Department states that the gas leak has closed down a section of Highway 55 in Freedom between Ludwig Street and Teardrop Lane.
